Darrin L. Carter serves with deep gratitude, humility, and great joy at First Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully fulfills the role of Minister of Worship. His ministry is shaped by a lifelong calling to serve God’s people through worship, leadership, and unity within the Body of Christ.

Darrin was first ordained in 1992 by Pastor Calvin H. Marshall of Now Faith Church in Chicago, Illinois. Over the past 30 plus years, he has served in pastoral ministry, with his most recent pastoral assignment in Greenbelt, Maryland, where he continued his commitment to preaching, teaching, and shepherding God’s people with care, integrity, and faithfulness.

Presently, Darrin is a member of The Kingdom Alliance, under the leadership of Bishop Nolan McCants, based in Plainfield, Illinois. His ministry philosophy is rooted in servant leadership, collaboration, and sensitivity to the move of the Holy Spirit, with a heart for creating worship experiences that are both Spirit-led and well-ordered.

In addition to his ministerial leadership, Darrin is an accomplished musician, vocalist, and recording artist, as well as the founder of Ordinary People, a creative arts and music company dedicated to bringing meaningful music experiences to seniors who have retired and are joyfully living out their best years. He is also the author of Unanimous: Unified by Decree in Earth as it is in Heaven, a work that reflects his passion for unity within the Church.

Darrin is married and a devoted father and grandfather, regarding his family as his first ministry. He considers it a true honor to serve the First Missionary Baptist Church family and remains committed to advancing its vision with faithfulness, excellence, and love under the leadership of Pastor Timothy McLaurin Jr.
