Rev. Stanley Harper accepted his calling to preach on September 15, 1995, while a member of the First AME Church of Gaithersburg under the leadership of then Pastor, Rev. Eddie Williams.

 

Rev. Harper joined First Missionary in 2001 under the leadership of Reverend Dr. William H. Graham, was licensed into the ministry in 2003 and ordinated in 2009.

 

He is currently the Coordinator for the Praise Ministries (Choirs, Dance & Hands Ministries), the co-leader of the New Membership Orientation class, as well the facilitator for the Tuesday Night Bible Study class. 

 

He is married and is the proud parent of two daughters, one son and eight grandchildren.

 

One of his favorite hymns is “Standing on the promises of Christ the King” and one of his favorite scriptures is:

2 Chronicles 7:14.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble

themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; 

then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.
