
Rev. Tonny Harris

Tonny DeMarco Harris is a native of Washington, D.C., where he attended and graduated from the D.C. public school system. After graduation, he fulfilled his dream of becoming a soldier, first as a Military Police officer for the 471stMilitary Police Company, D.C. National Guard, and later as a supply sergeant/military science instructor in the regular Army. During his last tour of duty, Master Sergeant Harris was the Chief Training Developer for the Multifunctional Logistics Team at Fort Lee, Virginia.
He was a subject matter expert (SME) in Combat Service Support Operational training. During his tours of duty, he earned two Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, and numerous other awards and citations. He retired from the regular Army in 1997 after 22 years of faithful service.
In 1997, Mr. Tonny Harris took his logistics and training development expertise and was hired as a training developer/instructor for the Ketron/Bionetics Corporation. He taught military logistics at Penn State University to military officers from Egypt.
In 2005, Mr. Tonny Harris was hired as the logistics manager for the U. S. Army ROTC Program at McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. That same year he received his Graduate Certificate in Military History and was an Adjunct Lecturer for the Department of Military Science at the college for twelve years. He retired from the U. S. Army a second time in 2016. He taught his last military history class in 2017.
Rev. Tonny. DeMarco Harris is now a senior minister at the First Missionary Baptist Church, Frederick, MD, where Rev. Timothy McLaurin Jr. is the pastor. He is the coordinator for the Service Ministries. Rev. Harris was licensed and ordained under the pastorate of Dr. William H. Graham. Rev. Harris holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Law Enforcement from Central Texas College. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Bible from Lancaster Bible College and a Master of Arts Degree from the Rawlings School of Divinity, Liberty University.
Rev. Harris is an accomplished gospel jazz musician and a published Christian author, writing two inspirational books. His favorite scripture is Romans 8:28. He believes that our work for God’s Kingdom reflects God’s purpose for our lives. He is married to Deaconess LaVerne Harris and has one adult daughter, Crystal Willis, and one granddaughter Ashley Willis.
