Rev. Harold Snead
Reverend Harold Snead is a native of Fort Valley, Georgia and one of 14 children born to the late George T. and Minnie P. Snead.
At the young age of fifteen, he joined the Central Union Missionary Baptist Church where he immediately became an active participant in the youth choir, ushers ministry, Sunday school, the Baptist boy's association, the Baptist Training Union, and the youth prayer team. He was blessed to have a twin brother who began his ministry at age sixteen and was able to help in his spiritual development and growth.
He joined the Jerusalem Baptist Church in Poolesville, Maryland in 1981 under the leadership of Reverend Larry Snead Sr. and he immediately joined several ministries in the church. Additionally, he became the Superintendent of Sunday School and the Chairman of the Board of Deacons.
After acknowledging the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he preached his initial sermon and was licensed by the Jerusalem Baptist Church on May 18, 2002.
After his initial sermon, he faithfully served as an Associate at the Jerusalem Baptist Church. Based on the recommendation of the pastor, with confirmation and approval by the deacons and members of the church, he was ordained on the 13th day of October 2012.
Educated in the Peach County School System and graduating with honors, he continued his education in the U.S. Army, graduating from Fort Sam Houston Medical Training Center as a Medical Corpsmen.
He attended Federal City College in Washington, D.C. majoring in Psychology, and Howard University, specializing in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine and Correctional Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science degree and post graduate degree. Additionally, he received many certificates and honors in Health Sciences.
He attended Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia earning a Bachelor of Divinity degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Divinity program.
With long and prayerful consultations, he joined the First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Doctor William H. Graham on December 15th 2014, along with his wife Deaconess Lena M. Snead. He presently teaches the Wednesday bible class, senior Sunday school class and works closely with the health ministry.
He has been married for 56 years and has two adult sons Harold II and Irvin Snead and six grandchildren, including, Jarvis, Summer, Princess, Isaiah, Nehemiah, and Elijah.
He prays to live forever someday through the commitment and love for Jesus Christ.
